WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Last week, Senate Bill 298 won in the State Senate. This bill would dismantle the Indiana
Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (ITPC) program, the program that funds tobacco-free
coalitions throughout the state, including the one in Delaware County. The bill is being
considered by the House of Representatives and if passed, the Tobacco-Free Coalition of
Delaware County, along with all others funded through ITPC throughout the state, will no longer
exist.

Are You an Ex-Smoker?
The Tobacco-Free Coalition of Delaware County is looking for people who have been tobacco free
for at least 30 days to call in and tell their story. One person each month will be selected for a
feature article in The Star Press and that person will receive a $25 gift certificate from Target.
Stories can come from recent quitters or from people who have quit years ago. The articles will
focus on the different techniques and programs that have helped people quit and to serve as a
resource for the many current smokers who want to free themselves from the nicotine addiction.
To submit a story or to find out about programs to quit smoking call the Tobacco-Free Coalition
of Delaware County at 281.2745, extension 22.
